Description |
Canine bone marrow mononuclear cells are derived from the bone marrow of beagle dog. When checking if the newly developed drugs are efficient and safe, canines are quite useful as a non-rodent model due to their similar morphology and physiology in anatomy compared to humans. Bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMMCs) are a heterogenous mixture, consisting of several types of cells, including monocytes, lymphocytes, and hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells. Among these bone marrow mononuclear cells, hematopoietic stem cell is the major cell population.
AcceGen supports a stable bone marrow mononuclear cell product by isolation from bone marrow using density gradient centrifugation. All cell lots are cryopreserved for the best quality and highest viability. With a rigorous regulation of quality control, all cells are negative for HIV-1, HBV, and HCV. |

Application | FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY In dogs, the transplantation of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells was used as a treatment for ununited anconeal process. Results showed that newly formed bone tissue was observed at the site of implantation. Moreover, a clinical trial showed that the transplantation of bone marrow mononuclear cells significantly increased the recovery rate of an acute spinal cord injury of the dog. In humans, bone marrow mononuclear cells transplantation has been widely accepted as a safe and reliable treatment for leukemia. Furthermore, canine bone marrow mononuclear cells can be used to study the secretion of growth factors and cytokines due to their regenerative potential. |
