MOG-G-UVW is a human brain astrocytoma cell line derived from an anaplastic astrocytoma of the normal adult brain. The cells exhibit glial and neoplastic characteristics, evidenced by the presence of dexamethasone-inducible glutamine synthetase, high-affinity uptake of y-aminobutyrate, aneuploidy, plasminogen activator activity, high saturation density, and angiogenic activity. These cells are telomerase-positive and lack alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT). Notably, MOG-G-UVW expresses oxytocin receptors at both the mRNA and protein levels. Oxytocin treatment inhibits their cell proliferation, accompanied by an increase in intracellular cAMP levels. Furthermore, the cell line is TP53-wildtype and contains KATP channels.- ONLINE INQUIRY
