Description |
The NCI-H322 cell line is a non-small cell carcinoma cell line established in 1981 from a primary bronchioalveolar carcinoma of the lung obtained from a 52-year-old male prior to treatment. Ultrastructural analysis revealed this cell line exhibits the features of Clara cells. The NCI-H322 cells lack UDP-glucuronosyltransferase expression but express glutathione-S-transferase and phenol sulfotransferase. Surfactant protein A (SP-A), a major surfactant-associated protein, was found to be expressed in NCI-H322 cells at the protein and RNA levels.
Why choose NCI-H322 from AcceGen? NCI-H322 from AcceGen is a compelling choice due to its secure and optimal incubation conditions, guaranteeing cell health. The cells are provided sterile and undergo professional cryopreservation, ensuring high viability upon thawing. AcceGen maintains stringent quality control measures, ensuring consistent and reliable performance of the cell line for various research applications. |

Application | FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY The NCI-H322 cell line, with its limited or absent glucuronosyltransferase activity, presents an opportunity to investigate the physiological impacts of toxic chemicals that are typically detoxified through glucuronic acid conjugation. These cells serve as valuable test systems for evaluating the cytotoxic and genotoxic potential of various substances on the human lung. Moreover, this cell line plays a crucial role in studying genes as tumor suppressors in the development of human lung cancer and assessing the effectiveness of potential drugs or inhibitors for their anti-tumor activity, often employing mouse models. Overall, NCI-H322 cells have diverse applications in toxicology, lung carcinogenesis research, and preclinical drug testing. |
