The ureter is located behind the peritoneum and is a tubular structure composed of muscular mucosa. It originates from the renal pelvis, terminating at the trigone of the bladder. The ureteral wall is divided into four layers: mucosal surface, submucosa, muscular layer, and outer membrane. The outer membrane, in particular, is mainly composed of fibroblasts. |
